| Mission Statement |
EVERY MISSING PERSON IS SOMEONE'S CHILD.
The Rachel Alert Network, or RAN, is a charitable organization which
helps prevent abductions through awareness education and provides
information to friends and families of abducted persons. Assistance
may be in the form of manuals that are downloaded or pointers to
other organizations that can help with missing person posters,
searches, presentations, speeches, publicity, victims' rights, and
many other tasks. Financial aid and other forms of assistance may
also be provided to other agencies to help in abduction prevention
and in finding missing persons.
Robert and Janet Cooke, the parents of missing youth Rachel Cooke,
formed this organization in 2002 to help other parents and loved ones
of missing persons. The Cookes' personal experiences with law enforcement,
the media, search groups and victims' rights groups are documented
here. There is also helpful data gathered from other people, organizations
and books.
In addition to providing information, RAN is dedicated to providing
equal assistance to everyone. This assistance is provided regardless
of age, race, sex, family income, location, or religion. RAN is committed
to changing laws and meeting with the media to change the way some
missing people are not given a fair chance.
There is nothing worse than losing a loved one through an abduction.
Not knowing his or her whereabouts is one of the most traumatic feelings
possible. The Rachel Alert Network is here to help those people in
any way possible.
